Post Doc opportunity

The Ultrafast theory Group (https://ultrafastlabiitb.wixsite.com/ultra-fast) at IIT Bombay, India  is looking two Postdoctoral Scholars on light-matter interaction on attosecond timescale. The postdoc will develop new theoretical methods to perform ultrafast electron dynamics simulations, where matter (atoms/solids) interact with intense ultrashort light.  The focus of this project will be investigating applications of high-harmonic generation in solids for technological applications like valleytronics and quantum computing. Recent publications from our group can be found at  https://ultrafastlabiitb.wixsite.com/ultra-fast/publications

Interested applicants should contact Prof. Gopal Dixit at gdixit@phy.iitb.ac.in

Message from Dr. Sivarama Krishnan, IIT Madras

Topical Issue of European Physical Journal

Call for Papers

We have initiated a special topic issue in the European Physical Journal titled  "Intense laser-matter interaction in atoms, finite and condensed systems":https://www.epj.org/open-calls-for-papers/85-epj-st/1864-epjst-special-issue-intense-laser-matter-interaction-in-atoms-finite-and-condensed-systems
We would be very glad if members of ISAMP can contribute an article for this issue. We believe this is an opportunity to highlight different aspects of this exciting field of work. In fact, the idea for this special issue came up in the Nobel prize in 2018 shared for the CPA technique, which once again brought this exciting area focus.
This special issue, co-edited by us, is intended to survey this area from the perspectives of experiment, computation, and theory. Topics may include attosecond physics, soft and hard x-ray FELs, HHG spectroscopy of condensed matter systems, atoms, molecules and clusters in intense ultrashort laser fields, nanoplasmas and nano-tips in intense fields, laser plasmas and particle acceleration, relativistic light-matter interaction.
This issue will accept:a) short and typical original papers, andb) tutorial or mini review. The details can be found here:   https://www.epj.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=408&Itemid=413&lang=en
Deadline for submission is 15th of August 2020.
